Tuscany Region - Day 5

A day trip up to Volterra (Vole-tair-ra). We found we much more enjoy the smaller towns and hamlets, than we do the big cities…. too many people. This became one of our most favorite places. It wasn't super busy, but the parking lots were small, so we had to park several blocks away from the entrance. We were super careful to not forget where our car was. 😆

One of the highlights of this area is there are actual Roman ruins - a large ampitheatre. And we almost missed it. We were so worried about not forgetting where our car was, we walked along the outter wall and didn't even know it. When we were leaving, we took a wrong turn, drove right past it and had to stop and at least take a picture. We both got a good laugh out of it. We found the car, almost missed the ruins!

Volterra was fun and whimsical. These were some unique characters waiting to meet us. Trolls and boars… who could want more.

At the end of the day, we were arriving home. At the bottom of the hill, look what was in the road again. The second one in two days. We were both excited to just sit and watch it. Keith and his pheasants… this one was just so easy going. …but wait…

We were home, cooled off in the pool and Keith went to work bbq'ing hamburgers for his dinner. The charcoal turned out to be more difficult than expected. He gave it a good college try, but after 45 minutes, he was hunger and we just brought them inside and fried ‘em up in a pan. He said it tasted just as good.
