Tuscany Region - Day 2

First big day touring and we headed to the Siena Centro Square. We parked in a parking garage, and even took a picture so we'd remember which floor we were on. More of the story on that later. Then we trekked into the gates of the city.

First stop was the Duomo. This picture makes it look so small, but it is not.You can see how tall the doors are from the size of the people. It had been a while since we toured a cathedral so this was a fun change.

The painings and artwork were beautiful, all telling the story of the time when Jesus walked on the earth.

We took the attic tour and found it as fascinating as the main church. All the tools and secrets that created this masterpiece building. The picture on the lower left is looking down into the church area below.

A view of the city from the top of the church.

At the end of the day, we were standing waiting for the buses to pass when we noticed a little girl in the back window, gently waving at us. We waved back and she was so happy. It was a precious moment.

We were hot, tired, and ready to head home so time to go back to the car…. wait, which direction was the car. Oh, it was in a parking garage, so we googled it. There were several. Oh no! Lost again. After trying several different things, in the wrong direction, Keith remembered our first stop was the Duomo. We retraced our steps back to the cathedral and then found the underground parking structure. Whew! You'd think we had learned by now to always mark our spot. Time to go home and jump in the pool.
