Our Journey on a Map - Part 3
See the details for the following map on the Journeys - Part 2
We were not able to take our car across the border into Italy without having to pay a large sum so we chose to take a train. We dropped off the car and then took a short train trip across the border to Ventimiglia, Italy where we stayed for one night. The next morning, we caught another train to Milan via Genoa. The journey along the coast to Genoa was beautiful - we both agreed we would rather have been out on the beach with everyone else. It was a gorgeous ride.
In Milan, we rented a car and drove to Lake Como, where we stayed in Perledo, a small village up the hill from Vareena. From there we headed west to Lake Garda where we found the quaint little hamlet of Pieve.
From Pieve, we continued to San Vito di Cadore, ten minutes up the road from Cortina d'Ampezzo. The last journey in that region was into the Dolomites to Braies Lake.
From Braies Lake, we headed south into Vinitsi - the region of Venice.
