BudaPest, Hungary
We had a beautiful start to the day. It was a long run overnight, and one of the locks got backed up delaying our arrival the next morning by several hours. What a great blessing it turned out to be, as many of us went up on the sundeck and just enjoyed the cool breeze, warm sun, and the scenery drifting by.
After we docked, we took a tour bus to the top of the mountain, on the Buda side of the river, and then climbed 80+ more steps to the top.
We found this guy to be quite handsome.
A beautiful city on the hill and these were some of our favorite highlights. Look closely at the roof of this cathedral. All those colors are small ceramic tiles no bigger than 5 x 5 inches. The mosiacs were on several buildings and just beautiful
One thing we struggled with on this tour was all the construction. There was so much renovation going on. Cranes and construction crews were everywhere. We know it is important, but it was a little discouraging, and we had a hard time getting a few good pcitures. After the tour, we decided to head back to the ship and just lay by the pool and take a nap.
As we headed back to the bus after the tour, we needed to get something cool to drink. So we ducked into a Starbucks and found this on the wall. A piece of home!
The evening event was a Folk Group performing during the happy hour. They were quite lively and very fun. On the last dance, the girls danced while balancing a jug of wine on their heads. Keith was directing the dancers to people sitting around us to see if they could balance it.
So we turned the tables on him… that's what he gets for being a stinker 🤣
