Lavagna and Sestri Lavante, Italy
Lavagna (La vahn yaa) and Sestri Lavante (Ses tree La vahn tae).
It was beach time again and our last destination in Italy was a little town north of Lucca on the coast. We were looking forward to some down time on the beach.
Our hotel was in Lavagna, a nice hotel, set back off the main road. It had a view of the water, and walking access on the boardwalk. It follows the beach on one side, and the train tracks on the other. It was a great place.
The first night we took a walk and found all the beaches were rockey, no sand. There was plenty of places to swim, with umbrellas and restaurants. but Keith wanted sand. We decided to enjoy the hotel pool while he was on his quest for sand.
Sure enough, he found sand. The beautiful little town of Sestri Lavante was 5 minutes up the road with a wonderful lagoon. It was like heaven. Picture above.
What was interesting, there was another beach just two blocks on the other side from the lagoon (picture above). But we didn't like this one as much, so we just spent our time at the other.
