Formula 1 - Day 1
This was a three day event and the first day was an extra fun experience. First, we found our seats on the back straight away. The section was covered and there was a huge jumbo-tron screen in front of us on the other side of the track so we could always see what was going on in the race. We purchased a special package that allowed us to do extra things on this first dayto learn about F1 racing.
After the teams were done practicing, and the crews had gone home for the day, we were able to walk out on the race course and tour the pit crew areas. The pit garages were all open and they look very different than during the race.
This was my favorite team, Mercedes, and this crew was doing exercises. They needed to be in shape for the next day and it was impressive.
They loaded everyone on flatbed trucks and then we toured the track as they described the specific areas of the track. It was very fun to see the behind-the-scenes.
Billie had some trouble walking, as she was still recovering from a recent surgery, so this was a very long day for her. We walked back to the area where we hoped to catch the train back to Milano Centrale but, it was so late, the train wasn't running. We called an Uber and went home the easy, but not cheap, way.
