Day 12-13 Hydra

We were all so tired when we finally landed in this small bay on the south side of Hydra. As soon as the boat was secure, everyone dropped and slept … we were so tired!

Welcome to Hydra (Hee-dra). We found a water taxi that came and picked us up from our boat and brought us into town. It was an easy 25 minute ride. We spent most of the day shopping, eating, and enjoying being on land.

This is the island where there are no motorized vehichles on the island… yup … no motorcycles, scooters, cars - none! But there were other ways to transport. We also found small battery operated carts to help move luggage, supplies, and larger items. That is a lot of walking!

There was an old fort protecting the harbor, windmills on the hillside, and lots of little shops and restaurants to venture through. It was a great change from the previous day and we all enjoyed it.

Keith and I always head away from the main areas and find the little out of the way places where the locals go. We found this little cutie with her mommy shopping and I couldn't resist a quick photo.

This was a great day off the water and our last day in the islands. The following day, it was time to head back to Athens.
