Teach them while they’re young

As you know, I love to sew, so what better way to encourage my granddaughters than to teach them how. So for Christmas, both Kailee and Avery recieved sewing machines from Ima and Papa. It didn't take long and they were hard at work. Trina, Kailee's mom, told us she was taking over the house, material everywhere, creating all kinds of things. Tryna said Avery too, jumped right in and was making bookmark gifts for her dad to share with a conference group. Both are very talented and having so much fun. Ima couldn't be more proud. (Yes, I have two girls with the same name… funny story, they were best friends in high school, wishing they could be sisters. Little did they know that years later, they would be.)

Uncle Keithus: “I need a ditch from the house to the container, 12 inches deep and there's money to be made.” It didn't take but a minute and Ryker and CJ (not pictured) were on it. We know that money is a motivator, but the hard work is good for them too. Sawyer decided to break his arm jumping over the couch so he was out. That's a little dramatic to get out of work, right? Actually, he was disappointed he couldn't help.

When the kids were building their house, we taught the big boys how to do electrical work. It is always fun to see them jump in and learn.
