Clowns and Jokers

We took a scenic drive and a famous song come to mind… 🎡 Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right, here I am, stuck in the middle with you πŸŽ΅β€¦ And why would that song come to me? There are thousands of bicycles 🚲 and scooters πŸ›΄ and motorcycles 🏍 and vespas πŸ›΅ everywhere, and I'm not exaggerating. They can be in groups of 1-2 or 10-15. The motorcycles ride down the center line and duck between cars when there is on-coming traffic, and with just inches to spare sometimes. Bicyclists ride on the right side. While most ride single file, some don't.

These are very narrow roads and riders are even on some of the highways - it's craziness. If they have to pass each other, they just pass, even if there is a car right behind them. It's the cars responsiblity to make the adjustment. So with motorcycles on the left, bicycles on the right, it was often very dangerous driving and we were stuck in the middle. We were grateful we had the Fiat so we had some wiggle room, but it wasn't fun.

We stopped for lunch at a little town and you can see how many motorcycles parked everywhere. I would not want to be on a motorcycle or a bike in these areas and respect those who do. It is scary.
